Sustainability and our environmental impact

At Acclimbatize, we believe every adventure should leave more than footprints—memories, skills, and a deeper respect for the wild spaces that shape us. Good environmental practice isn’t just a policy for us; it’s part of the adventure.
We move through some of the most beautiful and fragile environments in the UK and beyond. Whether it’s a windswept moor, a limestone crag, or a tranquil woodland, we tread lightly. That means sticking to established paths where possible, avoiding erosion hotspots, and leaving natural features as we find them. Environmental sustainability is baked in to our practice.
Our teams and clients are encouraged to pack thoughtfully—choosing reusable bottles, avoiding single-use plastics, and minimising waste on expeditions. What comes in with us, goes out with us. Wherever possible, we repurpose and recycle equipment rather than replace it.
We share these spaces with countless species, each playing their part in the ecosystem. Our instructors are trained to recognise sensitive habitats and nesting areas, adjusting routes or activity zones to ensure minimal disturbance. We watch from a distance and let nature do its thing.
We plan logistics to reduce unnecessary travel, car-share to activity sites, and use local suppliers and partners to keep our footprint small and our community ties strong. Every mile saved matters.
We don’t just teach outdoor skills—we teach stewardship. Each Acclimbatize session is an opportunity to inspire the next generation of adventurers to care for their environment. Awareness breeds action, and we’re proud to play our part.
