Outside Natural Space

Using the outdoors to foster spiritual growth and personal development in an outside natural space can inspire awe and wonder. It’s why we choose to go there.

Environment

Many traditions have texts emphasising a duty of care for the outside world. In our practice this may be as simple as our ‘Leave no Trace’ policy.  It is a simple style of caring for creation or caring for the natural environments we operate in.   
Acclimbatize and visiting leaders must remain mindful of other people using the same space.

If you need to set aside time in your day for quiet contemplation, guided reflection, meditation or prayers we can arrange a programme to accommodate those needs. 
Knowing of any specific requirements in advance may help our staff to determine suitable venues.

Safety

Safety for the group will remain paramount to us – for example the wearing of helmets is essential for certain activities. 
Group leaders must ensure that appropriate clothing is worn for all activities. 
It is important to us to outline these measures, so all groups feel prepared and respected.

Human contact: instructional staff may have to make direct physical interventions on activities.
 For example: to prevent a slip becoming a fall, to tighten up a harness, to help someone out of the water, to remove from any immediate danger. Acclimbatize staff will work sensitively and respectfully within your groups preferences but safety has to be maintained.

Activities

The activities we facilitate while practical can provide a purposeful and symbolic framework for review.
 Trust is a theme that is consistent throughout almost all of our activities. Adventure activities have been used for decades to foster a sense of belonging and connection to a group. Relationships built in the mountains or on expeditions can become everlasting.

Above all, participation in adventurous activities can bring us back to our immediate senses – back to the now, when our focus is purely on the present situation. By working together with openness and understanding we can ensure every participant enjoys a positive, comfortable and safe experience.
