Cromford Adventure Day

The Situation

The venue offers the perfect blend of climbing, canoeing, team-building and bush craft activities set in the heart of Derbyshire’s historic Derwent Valley – a World Heritage Site.

Based around the Cromford Mills and Cromford Canal, this adventure day offers a fun and varied programme that makes the most of this historic location . Under the guidance of our qualified instructors, you’ll take on a series of exciting challenges designed to build confidence, cooperation, and outdoor skills.

The mobile climbing wall, can test your nerve and agility as you scale to the top, while your peers take responsibility for managing the safety ropes. The wall is 9 meters in height.

Then, head down to the Cromford Canal for a session of canoeing, where you’ll learn to paddle, steer, and work as a team while exploring one of the Peak District’s most scenic waterways. 
The canal is wildlife reserve. Enjoy a series of team-building games and problem-solving tasks that encourage communication, trust, leadership and laughter in equal measure.

Learn to make fires using traditional flint and steel.

Perfect for schools, youth groups, and corporate teams, the Cromford Adventure Day is designed to be inclusive, adaptable, and packed with fun. Whether you’re building teamwork, developing confidence, or just enjoying a day outdoors, this mixed adventure day has something for everyone.

Cromford Meadows can act as a perfect central hub for other activities within close proximity such as caving, abseiling and rock scrambling between 5 and 10 minutes’ drive away.
