Training & Influences

Practised Satyananda Yoga for many years before Qualifiying with BWY in 2009. Attended workshops and residentials run by Peter Blackaby since 2007. Peter has been and remains the principal influence on my yoga. Earlier influences include Jon Kabat-Zinn and Jack Kornfield on the uses of Meditation techniques in everyday life.Currently attend classes and Anatomy Workshops run by Leslie Dike in Sheffield. I hold Professional Qualifications in Mountaineering, Rock Climbing ,Caving and Canoeing. I teach yoga to Climbers in Derbyshire.

Biography & Interests

Educated at Manchester High School of Art. Degree in Fine Arts (Painting & Sculpture) at Camberwell, London. Career with Youth & Community in East London before escaping to Derbyshire. Diploma in Outdoor Education,Edinburgh. Mountaineering Instructors Award,Winter Mountaineering Award,Provider of National Rock Climbing Awards. World Challenge Expeditions throughout developing countries iincluding Tibet,Mongolia,Ladakh,Himalayan India,Africa,South America leading young people. Practised yoga throughout career. Humanist phylosophical base throughout adult life. Practice and teach Yoga for Health.

Teaching & Classes

Teaching and personal practice based on methods taught by Peter Blackaby and Leslie Dike. Adapted to meet the Sport Specific and Injury Specific needs of Climbers and others interested in health and fitness. Regular classes each wednesday evening at The Coachhouse Studios,Wirksworth, Derbyshire.
