Rock Climbing Instructor – Training and Assessment Courses

Acclimbatize are approved by MTE (Mountain Training England) to provide training and assessment courses for the Rock Climbing Instructor Award – formerly the Single Pitch Award (SPA).
This qualification is for suitably experienced climbers who are keen to introduce groups of novices to the sport of Rock Climbing.

The award is based around ‘Trad’ climbing techniques and encompasses the use of indoor walls and outdoor bouldering. The award will satisfy the requirements of employing organisations and the Adventure Activity Licensing Service of a persons suitability to safely lead and supervise climbing groups.

Rock Climbing Instructor Courses take place in Spring to Autumn each year – please contact us for dates – Cost approx. £200
Rock Climbing Instructor Assessments take place in British summer time (BST) to make best use of longer daylight hours,   the cost is approx. £150

Caving Qualifications and Leadership Development

Approved by the National Governing Body of Caving (British Caving Association) to provide training and assessment in all 6 modules of the local cave and mine leader award scheme. The two schemes are for suitably experienced cavers wishing to gain a recognised qualification to lead parties underground in caves which are appropriate to the award they hold.

The awards will satisfy the requirements of employing organisations and the Adventure Activities Licensing Scheme.

  • Level 1 Training courses are usually run Autumn and Winter
  • OR; at any time of year by for organisations requiring a ‘block booking’.
  • Level 1 Assessment modules – by private arrangement with individual candidates.
  • Level 2 Training Courses are programmed for Autumn and Winter each year or by by private arrangement for organisations requiring ‘block bookings’
  • Level 2 Assessment modules are by arrangement with individual candidates.

Lowland Leader Qualification

Lowland Leader Award: The lowland leader is pitched perfectly for organisers of the Duke of Edinburgh Award and other leaders organising walking groups on marked rights of way all over he UK.

Lowland Leader Award Training courses take place throughout the year and can be blocked booked by arrangement. Lowland Leader Award – Assessment  – Courses take place throughout the year £130 non residential
